Meet the Fink's Team: David Sensinger

David Sensinger from Fink's Jewelers

At Fink’s Jewelers, we are proud of our team members. Together, we create a family made up of members that are talented, personable, and unstoppable. Our very own David Sensinger is one of those team members. He recently moved into a new position with our Roanoke home team, and we couldn’t be more excited!

How Did David Get into the Jewelry Business?

David has been around jewelry his entire life, starting with his mother’s jewelry shop in Baltimore, Maryland. Since then, he has had a love for fine jewelry and an interest in learning more about the process of watch buying and repair and the behind-the-scenes of the business. He enjoys helping folks learn about fine jewelry and pick the best gifts for their loved ones.

Interests and Hobbies

At Fink’s Jewelers, we value our team’s time and prioritize work-life balance. Some of David’s favorite things to do outside of work are:

  • Hang out with his kids
  • Concerts
  • Hiking
  • Running
  • Enjoying craft beer

David is a full-time single dad, and he loves getting to hang out with his kids and make time for family. He also loves concerts! Much to the dismay of his children, he will convince anyone in his life to join him at a concert, even if it’s hundreds of miles away! His favorite artist is Iron Maiden, though he enjoys all live music. At concerts and other events, he likes craft beer tasting and learning about the science behind it.

David is also an avid runner and a huge fan of hiking, which is great for our Roanoke location because it’s nestled in the Appalachian Mountains. The Appalachian Mountains are home to the Appalachian Trail, a series of hiking trails totaling a little over 2,190 miles long. Some Roanoke favorites are McKafee Knob, Dragon’s Tooth, and Mill Mountain Park.

The Best Things About Fink’s, According to David

We strive to be the best jewelry store around, both for our clients and our employees! When asked about his favorite things about his new position and working for Fink’s, he said these three things top the rest:

  • He has time to spend with family
  • Fink’s is a close-knit team
  • Learning about watch inventory

Since Fink’s Jewelers is a family-owned business, we know that family is more important than anything. Our employees will always have the time away from their job they need to spend time with family and friends, and we’re glad David agrees! David also says that working for a small business is much better than working for big box stores or chains because he gets a chance to connect with his clients and management on a personal level.

As a watch buyer, David loves learning the ins and outs of watch inventory and what makes things unique and valuable. He is amazed at Fink’s Jewelers’ volume of inventory, ranging from the most luxurious Rolex watches to the trendy, fashionable Cartier collection. David takes great interest in researching watches, brands, and their attributes.

How To Get into Watch-Buying

David got into watch-buying simply because he loved watches, and that’s a great place to start! His first watch was a Breitling, one of our favorite designers for newbies and watch aficionados alike. Whether you’re hoping to get into watches and buying or you’re a seasoned watch pro, Fink’s Jewelers has hundreds of options. Our team members, like David Sensinger, will gladly help you find the right watch for you!
