Diamond Cuts and Shapes

The cut of a diamond is the only grading factor that is controlled almost entirely by human imagination and resourcefulness.  Cutters must consider beauty, durability, and above all else, weight retention from the rough crystal. Though the “ideal” cut changes throughout time, the physical principles that make a diamond brilliant never change.
